4 of the Greatest Pop Albums of 2017 up to Now

While television shows and movies are my main fire, it's been hard to dismiss the sheer amount of astonishing pop music that has come out this past year. I'm more of a rock'n' roll man myself, but some of these tricky tunes have really caught my ear. Many of pop music is most prominent female singers have recently encountered striking style improvements. These have often been thanks to personal struggles, like recognizing signs he's cheating, beating melancholy, or processing suspicions about the current political climate.

1) Melodrama -- Lorde

A full departure from the previous album, Lorde's"Melodrama" is a record exploring the wake of a new breakup. Even though she might not have experienced signs he is cheating, it was a painful transition on her all the same. The album itself investigates many experimental, even industrial noises, to exemplify the isolation that comes along with being newly single. Before his departure, David Bowie himself has said that Lorde was the future of pop music, plus it shows.

Standout Tracks: Green Light, Hard Feelings/Loveless, Supercut

2) Rainbow -- Kesha

Even when you are not well-acquainted with pop music, you may possibly have learned about Kesha's lawsuit against Dr. Luke, as well as her offenses . For about five years, she has been struggling to release new music, until today. "Rainbow" marks Kesha's successful return into the music industry with a record that truly showcases her vocal and song writing abilities, as well as her new country-esque style.

Stand out Tracks: Let'Em Talk, Praying, Hunt You Down

3) Lust for Life -- Lana Del Rey

In only a few short years, Lana Del Rey has released four albums and one EP with all new stuff. "Lust for Life" is the most recent release and conveys quite a different tone from her previous job. While she's mostly known for creating somber ballads which deal with breakups, signs he's cheating, and also personal melancholy, her brand new album marks a measure in a more positive direction. These songs have the identical dreamy quality that her fans have come to expect, with lyrics which are far more uplifting.

Standout Tracks: Love, In My Feelings, Get Free

4) Witness -- Katy PerryKaty Perry's striking, short haircut has been a hint that this album will be radically different.

Katyperry's new album,"Witness", had been marketed as"purposeful pop" with its first single,"Chained to the Rhythm." While the rest of the songs did not surpass this hype, they're certainly exciting and different from other things Katy's done. She collaborated using Purity Ring, a experimental digital duo, to generate a few of the more introspective tracks. Perhaps the most unique quality about this album is that while Katy's singles tend to be chart-toppers, very few of the songs on"Witness" are actually radio friendly.

Standout Tracks: Mind Maze, Bon Appétit, Save as Draft

There are plenty of other new releases to look forward for the past year, too. Both the Miley Cyrus and taylorswift have recently revealed the covers of their new albums, slated to come out within the following month approximately.
